Here in the Columbia Wetlands we are blessed with a great diversity of migratory bird life. Many of the geese traveling from their wintering grounds to the south will stay in the wetlands to raise thier young. Others will stop over for a while feeding and waiting for spring to warm the land to the north before moving on.
In this painting of Canada Geese I wanted to portray patterns and placement. Geese seem to be all about patterns, don't you think? Patterns are exhibited in how they fly in V-formations, and how then often interact when on land.
